My first career was in the classroom as a middle school health teacher, where I taught the importance of a healthy lifestyle along with physical and emotional wellbeing. With parenthood, I became a stay at home mom never losing a passion for health education. While taking a course on contemporary issues in education I focused on the benefits of practicing mindfulness and yoga in a school setting leading to the decision to become a yoga teacher, becoming RYT-200 in 2016. I have been guiding practice for children and adults since 2016, teaching gentle yoga, slow flow, vinyasa, and restorative. I recently completed training in Accessible Yoga which helps bring yoga to every body, regardless of outer ability. I have taught at Gentle Strength Yoga in Rocky Point, New York and Remedy Fitness in East Setauket, New York, and have adapted to teaching through Zoom and pop-up events during social distancing. Yoga helps cultivate self-awareness, self-study, self-acceptance, it helps establish a more peaceful home base within ourselves. What is learned on the mat helps bring balance to daily life off the mat.
